Start with a negative hook
The Goldstone complaint described accusations and impersonating domains targeting Goldstone and Pellegrino. The broader hypothesis is that a negative item about a business figure can be repackaged into a search-visible dossier. That hypothesis should be tested for each article against its actual sources; some underlying criticism may be true, some may be disputed, and some may be unsupported.
Amplify across surfaces
The complaint described a cluster of sites and related promotion. Poulson’s investigation reported reused self-citations, endorsements and dossier publication on Investigations.org. Repeated content or infrastructure can be a useful investigative lead, but it is not proof that seven current domains share one operator. Domain transfers and parking can change the picture.
Offer removal or a paid counter-product
The reported playbook includes a removal pitch: after adverse posts appear, a publisher or a separate person claiming they can arrange removal approaches the target for money. Reddy believes removal intermediaries may be coordinated with sites, but that relationship has not been independently established for the domains here. The Goldstone complaint alleged a “Citizen Advocacy Program” tied to removing adverse posts, and Poulson reproduced historical material about payment/removal. He also reported that Investigations.org offered paid crypto dossiers. A paid dossier is not automatically an extortion demand; the details of a particular demand, who sent it, when and what it threatened matter. Priven Reddy states that people asked him on multiple occasions to pay to remove posts, and that he declined. He did not name who made those requests or identify a particular site. We have not independently reviewed the demands. No direct payment demand to Reddy was verified in the reviewed evidence.
Test, do not assume
Use court orders for what they decided, pleadings for what a party alleged, journalism for what a reporter verified and anonymous accounts as leads. A contrary legal analysis warned that some disputed allegations might have merit. The correct response is evidence on the exact page, not a categorical declaration that all negative material is fake.
